Meet Erik Johnson, LCSW
Hi, I’m Erik Johnson, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a master’s degree from Arizona State University. My passion lies in helping men and teens navigate challenges related to sex addiction, relationships, and personal growth. With years of experience, I’ve developed a practical, skill-building approach that focuses on recovery, understanding addiction cycles, and creating healthier patterns in life and relationships.
In our sessions, you’ll find a balance of empathy and strategy. I work collaboratively with clients, helping them identify their goals while providing tools like mindfulness, gratitude practices, and techniques to break shame cycles. Whether we’re addressing deep emotions or exploring new habits, my priority is to help you feel understood and empowered to move forward.
A Personal Approach to Therapy
I’m analytical yet spontaneous, and I adapt to what each client needs. If you’re looking for guidance, I can be direct and strategic. If you’re seeking a space to process emotions, I’m here to listen and reflect. My goal is to meet you where you are and help you grow from there.
I believe therapy is about connection and progress. I often share insights from my own life—when it feels appropriate—to relate, empathize, or demonstrate strategies that work. My personal experiences with mindfulness, gratitude, and vulnerability have shaped how I approach both life and therapy.
Why I Do What I Do
My passion for counseling comes from my own journey through trauma and healing. I know firsthand how transformative therapy can be, and I’m committed to helping others discover that same sense of progress and possibility. I regularly seek out new knowledge on mental and emotional health to better serve my clients.
Some of my favorite guiding principles include:
• “Problems are the gifts we grow from.”
• “When you are grateful, fear disappears.”
• “All human behavior can be understood through the lens of attachment.”
A Little About Me
Outside of therapy, I find joy in the simple things—playing basketball, caring for my plants, and spending time outdoors with my family. My wife and I set a goal to spend 1,000 hours outside this year, and our kids keep us busy with creative activities like art and playtime.
I grew up in Jackson Hole, a town filled with adventure, where I spent my childhood skiing after school and playing sports. Today, I still love a good challenge—whether it’s improving my jump shot, doing cold plunges, or finding new ways to connect with loved ones.
Let’s Work Together
Therapy is about growth, healing, and finding balance in your life. If you’re ready to move toward healthier habits, stronger relationships, and greater peace of mind, I’d be honored to help.
Let’s take the first step together—schedule an appointment today.
